KALINOVSKI SQUARE won an award at The International Documentary Film Festival CRONOGRAF, that took part at Chisinau, May 15 – 19, 2008.

The Award Ion Vatamanu "for love of truth and freedom" goes to Kalinovski Square, by Yury Khashchavatski, Estonia. Ion Vatamanu (1937 - 1993) is a Moldavian poet, scientist and politician that fought for the democratic values in the times of national resurgence in Moldova (late '80s and early '90s). This award is offered by Leontina Vatamanu, the douther of Ion Vatamanu and was established in 2007, at the 6-th edition of the CRONOGRAF Film Festival, when Ion Vatamanu was supposed to celebrate his 70 years anniversary.
